Christmas 2013

Christmas 2013
I spent considerable time through the months leading up to Christmas crocheting cradle purses.  My intent was having something for any little girls I might get acquainted with.  I made 14 in all.  Some of my granddaughters got one, but I also gave some to 2-5 year olds that I have taught in Primary a few times.

These are some of the little girls got a cradle purse.

Zone Conference in mid-December was fun.

The Assistances to Pres. Mecham surprised us by popping in following a yummy lunch dress as such.  The sister in the picture is Sister Thompson.  She is acquainted with Elder Allsop's nephew Gary and Kari Godfrey serving in East Billings.

The Poplar and Wolfpoint Elders also posed with Santa, an Elf and a walking present.
President and Sister Mecham got in the act too.  I wasn't quick on the camera shutter so they were already to stand up in this shot.

Life's little miscellaneous

Our home in Poplar was furnished and supplied rather well by the mission, but we did lack for better cereal type bowls.  These 5 red ones were earned one at a time.  They are Rachael Ray dishware that you can earn by collecting stamps at our one and only grocery store, Albertsons.  It takes 20 stamps to earn one item.  So you are looking at $1000 in groceries spent from September to January.  It has been worth it having larger bowls.

When two new Elders arrived in December they had a lot of ideas of getting people to come out to the branch.  They held two movie nights.  There seemed to be no access to a popcorn popper so Elder Allsop purchased this one so popcorn could be served at the movies.

Now proud owners of a movie theater style popcorn popper.
