The Fourth of July in Poplar

Fireworks are a big deal on the Rez.  They are allowed to buy and shoot them off beginning the first of June.  You can hear the pop and bang in every neighborhood.

 

We viewed some spectacular displays from the top of a hill overlooking the Rodeo grounds outside of Poplar.

Some of the Fireworks shot off by the people parked near us where as big and loud as the Poplar City's.

There are few fireworks restrictions on the Rez.

A couple of them exploded very near the ground.

Sister Pat Iron Cloud was sworn is as Vice Pres. on the Tribal Council July 7, 2014

Sister Iron Cloud is a faithful member of the Poplar Branch.  After the passing of the Vice Pres. of the Tribal Executive, Sister Iron Cloud as a runner up in the elections last fall was sworn in to office.

These are the chambers were the 12 member Tribal Executive Committee meets twice a month.
